IMEI Check online: carrier, SIM-lock, blacklist, GSX and MDM
78,000+ orders completed ยท rejected orders are refunded automatically
An IMEI check reads the records held for a phone under its 15-digit IMEI: the activation record Apple keeps (carrier lock policy, Find My, MDM, warranty and purchase details), the GSMA lost-and-stolen registry that carriers share, and the carriers' own databases (unlock eligibility, unpaid balance, Japanese finance status). It tells you what the device in front of you, or in a seller's listing, really is before you buy, sell, unlock or activate it.
Apple devices can be checked by IMEI or by serial number: checks marked [IMEI/SN] accept both, so Wi-Fi iPads, Macs and Apple Watch work as well. Android phones are checked by IMEI: the GSMA blacklist check accepts any brand, the EID check covers Apple, Samsung and Google Pixel, and the Pixel and carrier checks cover the devices of their own brand or network.
Registered users get a daily quota of free checks on the Free check page (the Carrier + SIM-Lock report and the GSMA Blacklist Check) with no balance needed. Paid reports start at a few cents per IMEI and are ordered from the balance; the table below lists every check with its current price and typical time. Every check is a report only: nothing is changed on the device, and a rejected paid order is refunded to the balance automatically.

Requirements
- The 15-digit IMEI: dial *#06#, or look under Settings > General > About on an iPhone and Settings > About phone on Android. Dual-SIM phones have two IMEIs; either one identifies the device.
- For Apple devices without an IMEI (Wi-Fi iPad, Mac, Apple Watch): the serial number, with a check that accepts serials (marked [IMEI/SN]).
- A free account: the daily free checks need sign-in, and paid checks are ordered from the account balance.
How it works
- Pick the check that answers your question: carrier lock and SIM-lock status, blacklist, Find My and MDM, the full GSX history, or a carrier eligibility or finance status.
- Paste one IMEI or serial number, or a list for a bulk order; the order is sent to the source automatically.
- Most checks answer within seconds; the result is posted to the order in your account, and you can also get it by email or in the Telegram bot.
- Checks always return a result. If the source cannot read the device, the order is rejected and refunded to the balance automatically.
Frequently asked questions
What is an IMEI check?
A lookup of the records held for a device under its IMEI: Apple's activation record (carrier, SIM-lock, Find My, MDM, warranty), the GSMA blacklist that carriers share, and the carriers' own unlock and finance databases. It only reads data: the phone is not unlocked and nothing is changed on it.
Is the IMEI check free?
Registered users get a daily quota of free checks on the Free check page: the Carrier + SIM-Lock report and the GSMA Blacklist Check, with no balance needed. Beyond the quota, and for deeper reports such as the Full GSX report, MDM status or carrier eligibility, orders are paid from the balance at the price shown in the table. A rejected paid order is refunded automatically.
Can I check by serial number instead of IMEI?
Yes, for Apple devices. Checks marked [IMEI/SN], such as Carrier + SIM-Lock, MDM On/Off Status and Sold By Info, accept a serial number, so Wi-Fi iPads, Macs and Apple Watch can be checked too; such units return fewer lines (no IMEI, EID or SIM-lock). The GSMA blacklist and the US carrier checks need the IMEI, because those databases are keyed by it.
What does an "Unknown" carrier or SIM-lock status mean?
"Unknown" or a missing Carrier line means there is no lock record on file, not that the phone is unlocked. Common causes: the device was never activated, the policy belongs to a regional or prepaid carrier that is reported less consistently, or the checker relies on a carrier database rather than Apple's activation record. The Carrier line of the IMEI check shows the policy Apple holds: a network name with "Locked Policy" means locked, "Unlock." means factory unlocked. A missing line is not a refund case.
What does "blacklisted" mean?
A carrier has reported the IMEI to the GSMA registry as lost, stolen or involved in fraud. Networks that subscribe to the registry refuse service to such a device, and a SIM unlock does not remove the report. A clean GSMA result does not cover carrier-internal blocks such as unpaid bills; the T-Mobile and Cricket checks show those for their networks.
What does FMI: ON (Find My) mean?
Find My is turned on, so the device is linked to its owner's Apple ID (Activation Lock) and after a reset it asks for that Apple ID. The FMI line is part of the Carrier + SIM-Lock, Carrier PRO and Full GSX reports, and the MDM On/Off Status check adds the iCloud status. The check only reports the status; it does not change it.
Does it work for Samsung, Pixel and other Android phones?
Partly. The GSMA blacklist checks accept any IMEI, the EID check covers Apple, Samsung and Google Pixel, Google Pixel Info covers Pixel devices, and the carrier checks (T-Mobile, TracFone / Straight Talk, SoftBank, NTT Docomo, KDDI, Cricket) work for any device sold on that network. Apple's activation record, and with it the carrier policy, Find My and GSX lines, exists only for Apple devices.
What happens to the IMEI I submit?
It is stored with your order so the result stays in your order history, and it is passed to the check provider only to run the order. Personal data is not sold or shared for advertising, and you can ask support to delete your data, as the Privacy Policy describes.
The official route
Some of this is free at the source. Dial *#06# to see the IMEI; on iOS 14 and later Settings > General > About shows a Carrier Lock line ("No SIM restrictions" when the phone is unlocked); checkcoverage.apple.com shows the model and warranty for a serial number; US carriers check unlock eligibility for their own customers, and the Japanese carriers publish free network-restriction lookups. If you hold the device and only need one of those answers, they cost nothing. An IMEI check adds what those routes do not give together: the lock policy, Find My, MDM, blacklist and carrier status for a device you do not have in hand, by IMEI or serial, one at a time or in bulk and through the API.
